You need LMS 7.9.

AFAIK Spotify still does not provide access to these songs through their
programming interface.

BBC Sounds integration in iPlayer?

$

Hi,

I didn't want to polute the main iPlayer thread but I have a question on BBC Sounds.

I suspect this is a completely different API and not available to third parties, but:

Is there some way of surfacing the My Sounds list on LMS, in particular the latest ones. I subscribe to a bunch of programmes and it would be good to see them in (reverse) chronological order instead of going through the menus every time. It would require a login etc, and may not be open to third parties without $$$, but maybe it's doable?

Adding a Spotty (Spotify) playlist to Favorites with the command line interface issue

Can you give a bit more context? "favorites add" would do that. But
you're trying to navigate Spotty's menu?

> However using the "want_url:1" parameter does not return an URL for the

Spotty is not designed to access Spotify's API and return raw data. It's
only providing a navigation menu. You could certainly try to navigate
that menu programmatically somehow, but it's obviously rather
complicated. Why not use Spotify's API directly?

Chromecast, UPnP and AirPlay bridges updates

$

I've recently done updates of these plugins regarding codec supports, especially as part of my effort to bring streaming wav (aif maybe) support to LMS. I've pushed the updates on the stable version as the amount of permutations and combinations required for test is simply *way* above my capabilities so I need this community's help and understanding.

I won't be able to answer questions from users who have problems with these bridges which are related to installation or networking (firewall, docker, VM, multicast filtering, IGMP snooping ...). Please read the threads and rely on community's responses. Sending me a PM will not help nor will opening an issue on GitHub.

I also want to allocate my (limited) available time to the SqueezeESP/SqueezeAMP project as well as knowing better some of the LMS inner code.

Back to the codecs topic, to get the full updated list, you must erase the "codecs" line content in these plugin settings, wait a bit and refresh the page. The list will be updated with the most recent defaults. For UPnP bridge, if you want to try oggopus and oggflac, it's likely that your player will not report the proper mimetypes, so you'll have to add them to "Additional MimeTypes" - see documentation

Could you tell me the Output Setting for Squeezelite ?

I've ordered a Topping D90 and it will save me the trial and error method of figuring out the output setting.
Thanks!

What you're referring to is Spotify Connect. It's a protocol Spotify
defined and that found some acceptance on the market. TIDAL and all the
others don't have that feature. Therefore we can't implement TIDAL
playback from within TIDAL's app.

Seeking within a track should just work. Pause I'm not sure, as LMS
would usually top playback of remote streams after some time.

When you used logging for player.source and you tried to seek, what
would you see in server.log?

Homekit integration via Homebridge - new maintainer needed

$

Hi

I am using the `homebridge-squeezebox` plugin for homebridge, and I can nicely switch the players on and off via voice and automation.

But the maintainer of the repo https://github.com/greebowarrior/homebridge-squeezebox is looking for a new maintainer. There are quite a few ways of improving this plugin, and the baseline is already there (finding of layers, creating of controls for all, getter and setter for volume). I do not know enough about js and home bridge, but if somebody here would be interested, I would certainly participating into bringing this further.

So: are there any takers?

OS is Windows 7.
Any ideas?

Why would you install the lattery? AFAIK your NAS uses an Intel CPU. No
additional helper required.

What do you mean by "never activates when LMS is restarted"?

Bridges Query

$

Hi Guys

I fear that this lockdown is turning my brain to mush as I've got a very basic question about the 3 'Bridge' plugins - and I know I should be able to answer this question myself! Where's that 'embarrassed' emoji??)

Long-story-short: I've had to reinstall everything after my Windows 10 PC crashed with a corrupted hard disk. Pleased to say that everything is back, working, and pretty-much 99.9% of LMS is 'as it was' (I think!)

My question is about the 3rd-party plugins. UPnP Bridge, CastBridge and AirBridge

"How do I know if these are working?"
I thought I'd read the devices that are found are 'seen' as extra (Squeezelite) players
"But where do I find these?" I can't see them if I go into LMS web interface and look at my list of players - it just shows my Logitech radios (as expected) and I can only see *some* of them elsewhere (see below)

Here's what I've worked out...

- In each of the plugins (on their respective plugins page) in LMS I can see the devices on my network that the plugins have found and their mac address etc etc. In my case, it's my Yamaha Amp and 2x Sky boxes
- I can also see that each plugin is being let through my firewall

But...

in the case of the CastBridge, I can't see it anywhere on my setup - not on the TV when I'm running the Chromecast dongle, whereas I can see AirPlay on my phone and play my music from LMS (so I guess the AirBridge plugin is behaving as expected) and I can see the LMS icon on my Samsung TV (again, so I've concluded that the UPnP bridge is OK). So, I'm assuming it's the *Chromecast dongle* that the CastBridge plugin interacts with??

So, the bit that's been driving me mad is:

1. Am I right in thinking I should see my devices (Yamaha amp and Sky Boxes) as 'players'? somewhere If so, where?
2. Where do I go (at a device level) to see that the CastBridge plugin is functioning?

Phew! Off for a lie down now! 😉

Cheers all. Any help appreciated.

Where'd my Settings tab go?

Dumb question number 22: after installing Material Skin over LMS I can't find the Settings tab, that used to be in the lower right hand corner, to add an app. Don't find it in the Settings tab in the upper right hand corner of MS either. Help?

See

AFAIK librespot's normalization is the "default" one.

OrangeSqueeze Future / Alternatives

Been an OrangeSqueeze user for years.... I was just installing it on a new Android phone this morning, and saw this:

"Attention! As of April 2020 and version 2.5, Orange Squeeze is in maintenance mode only and no new features or bug fixes will be made. You can still purchase the app if you like and the generous refund policy still applies."

Can't seem to find any specific discussion of this news here in the Forums. Thoughts? And what's the best alternative as and when OrangeSqueeze starts to get wobbly?

Spotty with ReplayGain

$

When listening to a Spotify playlist containing recent recordings and recordings from the eighties, there’s a clear difference in volume.

All of my players are set to “smart gain”. When playing back local files, the volumes are similar, so I think this is a Spotify-specific problem.

Additionally, for each player I have ReplayGain enabled in the Spotty options. (Aside: It took me a while to find this option, and I’m not sure that it’s helpful for it to exist. I feel like it should default to on if ReplayGain is active for the player)

I notice that running “ps” mentions “spotty --enable-volume-normalisation …”, which seems correct.

Any ideas? Does anyone have this working?

Spotty not playing

If the local player does play Spotty, then that seems to be working just
fine. There must be a challenge with the UPnP bridge.

Spotify Connect: Players keep disappearing

> - Manually added the Spotify account, as the detection did not work

If detection doesn't work, then there's already a problem - because
authentication is using Connect. Run with plugin.spotty=info and check
the log file.

You don't run LMS in Docker, do you?
